The Rose Hill Coalition LLC provides current information on land use issues in the Rose Hill Planning District which lies within Franconia District in Fairfax County, Virginia. The Coalition supports full transparency in land use issues directly affecting local residents.

|
Franconia Governmental Center
On May 21, 2024, the Board of Supervisors voted to convey the property to the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority for potential redevelopment as affordable housing. See link below.

The Rose Hill Coalition LLC will continue to monitor the redevelopment of the Franconia Governmental Center site as it moves through the County's planning and rezoning stages.
|
|
|
|
The vote to convey the property had previously been deferred based on community objections that residents were not sufficiently notified about or consulted on the transfer or future use of the public property. Since then, Franconia Supervisor Lusk held three community meetings in April and May.
|
A "Summary Presentation" was made by Supervisor Lusk and other County agencies on May 6 (see below).

SUMMARY PRESENTATION (May 6)

Based on public statements made by Supervisor Lusk at the May 6, meeting that acknowledged alternative uses for the site, including the Franconia Volunteer Fire Department, the Rose Hill Coalition LLC, the Kingstowne Residential Owners Corporation (KROC), and several surrounding civic associations separately wrote Supervisor Lust to request new public meetings to fully consider alternative uses (see below).
