4/11/23: The Board of Supervisors (BOS) voted YES to move forward with the nomination as part of the 2023 Work Plan. It will now proceed to the “Work Plan Stage“, but as a deferred nomination.

4/6/23: As of April 6, Franconia District Supervisor Lusk has agreed to defer the nomination and ask Combined Properties to “further engage” with the community. The full scope of a deferral and a definition of “further engage” has not been outlined.

3/29/23: The Planning Commission “voted 11-0 (Commissioner Lagana was absent from the meeting) to recommend to the Board of Supervisors the adoption of the 2023 Comprehensive Plan Amendment Work Program…” The final recommendation from the Planning Commission is that the nomination be added to the Work Program, but as a deferred item. This means that staff would not begin working on it until the nominator has conducted further community outreach.” Again, this is the recommendation to the Board of Supervisors. 1/9/23: Fairfax County Planning and Development Dept posts announcement on their Facebook page about the SSPA land-use changes (aka nominations).

12/6/22: Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted to allow the Site-Specific Plan Amendment (SSPA) application by Combined Properties Inc. to proceed through the SSPA review process. That review process included a public meeting on January 23, 2023. The Site-Specific Plan Amendment (SSPA) “allows anyone to propose a land use change to the Comprehensive Plan.”
