The Franconia District* Land Use Advisory Committee serves as a citizens advisory body to the Franconia District Supervisor. The committee serves solely at the discretion of the Supervisor and makes recommendations on land use issues put before them. Those recommendations may or may not be followed with regard to Fairfax County land-use decisions made by the District Supervisor.
All Franconia District residents are welcome to attend Land Use Committee meetings and speak, however, each homeowner or civic association gets only one vote. Only the formally appointed primary or alternate representative for an association may vote on a matter.
Meetings are held once a month on Mondays, in person and/or virtually. In person meetings are held at the Franconia Governmental Center, Helen Hayes Room, 6121 Franconia Road, Alexandria, VA 22310. The Zoom link is the same for every meeting.
For more information, contact the Franconia District Supervisor’s office.
If you would like to be a voting member of the Land Use Committee, have your Homeowners Association or Civic Association appoint you as its representative to the Committee. Each such association in Franconia District is entitled to have a voting representative on the committee, as well as an alternate, who is entitled to vote if the primary representative is not present. Send a Letter of Appointment to Supervisor Lusk’s office.
